So, it’s August and there are all ready Christmas decorations in Costco. There is nothing that depresses me more than seeing that and knowing that winter is coming. Don’t get me wrong, I like Christmas, but living in Utah and knowing that winter will be here for the next nine months is just a little depressing.
But, the thought of the music, the lights, the tree and the shopping excites me! I’m one of those ones who absolutely loves decorating and I am just itching to get those boxes out.
Another weird thing is that I love to buy presents for other people. Like seriously, I would buy people presents all year long if I could. But, that costs a lot of money, so I don’t.
That’s also why you’re here, because buying presents for everyone costs a lot of money. So if you didn’t know all ready, I love budgeting. That’s like my favorite hobby. But honestly, last December I didn’t even do my budget because I wasn’t quite prepared for all the spending I did. Plus, I got married in December and had A LOT of extra costs that I just didn’t want to deal with.
This year is going to be different, this year I am actually going to be PREPARED! And, I also won’t have to worry about a wedding so hopefully I don’t spend as much as I did last year, (we’ll see).
Starting this month I am going to save money specifically for buying presents and any other Christmas decorations I need want. (My husband would tell you that I DEFINITELY don’t need any more decor items, but I can’t resist the pull of Tai Pan Trading.) So with my savings I also needed a cute new printable to help with it. Sadly, this printable will probably be the only thing I get that’s free for Christmas.
I’ve made templates with four different colors. There’s a peachy-pink, subtle yellow, cherry red and forest green. Both set of downloads have just a plain one with no color if you’d prefer it 🙂

My goal is to save $500 by Christmas. That’d be great if I save a little bit more but as long as it’s no less. To save that much I need to save at least $100 a month.
I know that most of you won’t see this the week that I am starting my Christmas savings. That’s okay, you can still start to save! I challenge you to pick an amount you want to save for and figure out how much you need weekly or monthly to achieve that. Even if you only end up saving $100 by December, that’s $100 more that you didn’t have for Christmas shopping!
I also am ending this on December 10th because by then I will need to start shopping! Or, hopefully I will actually have some of it done.
I decided that I am going to also start shopping earlier so that I don’t wait until the last minute. (I’m crossing my fingers!)
Good luck on your Christmas savings, and let me know how much you’re planning to save for Christmas this year.
