Who has the time to go to a nail salon anymore?! I don’t feel complete without having my nails done, but finding the time to go when I have a busy toddler, work, and have all of life’s messes to deal with I just don’t have the time. That’s when I found my saving grace – high-quality Red Aspen nail dashes. The best part? You can apply these fake nails AT HOME in just 15 minutes and have them last as long as 2 weeks!
HOW TO APPLY FAKE NAILS IN 15 MINUTES: Step-by-Step
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Set of nails (these are my favorite)
- Cuticle pusher
- Nail buffer
- Nail glue
- Rubbing alcohol or vinegar
STEP 1 – CHOOSE CORRECT NAIL SIZES
I like to have my nail sizes picked out very first and put them in order. This saves a ton of time before you get into the whole prepping and sanitizing process.
Pro Tip: Find a nail set that includes multiple sizes for each finger since all nails are shaped differently.
STEP 2 – TRIM AND FILE NATURAL NAILS
It’s best to keep your natural nails short since they will grow underneath when you apply the fake press-on nails. Slightly buff/file your natural nail to get any previous glue off from salons or debris. Be careful not to file too much as this can create grooves in your nail for bacteria grow.
STEP 3 – WASH AND PUSH BACK CUTICLES
Wash your hands to remove any debris from filing and help remove excess oils. Use a cuticle pusher to push back cuticles for the best nail fit.
STEP 4 – APPLY RUBBING ALCOHOL OR VINEGAR TO NATURAL NAILS
To prevent any bacteria growth it’s important to sanitize your natural nails before applying the fake nails. You can either use rubbing alcohol or vinegar, whatever you have handy. Use a small amount with a cotton ball or paper towel and swipe on the natural nail. Allow to air dry before applying the fake press-on nails.
STEP 5 – PLACE NAIL GLUE ON NATURAL NAIL AND FAKE NAIL
To last 2 weeks place a thin layer on your natural nail and a thin layer on the fake press-on nail. For a shorter time, just place a small dot on your natural nail. Press down on nail for 30 seconds.
Enjoy the fastest, DIY at home manicure!
BEST FAKE PRESS-ON NAILS
I’ve tried almost every nail kit that Target and Walmart sells (I would literally raid Target weekly to check out the new nail sets!) The best quality nails by far are Red Aspen Nail Dashes. They’re the only ones that have lasted for 2 weeks or longer and don’t split, break or crack. Plus, I LOVE their color selection and different styles and shapes.
WHY I LOVE RED ASPEN:
- Non-toxic
- Multiple sizes to fit all fingers
- Includes file, cuticle pusher, glue and 24 nails (so you technically get 2 sets in one)
- Only $13, high-quality on a budget
- Only takes 15 minutes
I’ve used Red Aspen Nail Dashes for the past year and have been obsessed with them! They’ve lasted me through washing bottles every night, washing dishes, doing laundry and now chasing around a very busy toddler. My Nail Dashes complete me and make me feel fancy while still being a mom. You can check out the Nail Dashes here for yourself.
These are currently my favorite Red Aspen Nail Dashes that I’ve been currently wearing:
