Buying a home is one of my husband and mine’s biggest goals. I feel like it’s the ultimate goal for most people. Who doesn’t want their own house, right? But……… Who wants to save money for the down payment?
Same thing with your retirement. How do you know how much to save for your retirement and how do you even begin?
That’s why I’m going to show you the EASIEST way to save for anything! For me, right now we’re focusing on saving for a down payment. If that’s what you’re also saving for, then great! If there’s something else specific that you’re saving for then think of that and replace it whenever I say down payment. ๐
Sometimes I honestly feel like it’s never-ending trying to save for that down payment. Trying to save at least 20% for a decent sized house to fit your family, plus added monthly expenses, is no joke. That’s a lot of money to save, and for us, on a small income.
What about the other financial goals you have? What about your retirement you’re supposed to save for? Saving money is literally never-ending! And sometimes it may even be so depressing that we actually don’t save for anything, gasp! (That’s not you though, right? You totally know better:))
If mine and my husband’s story above sounds like your situation then you have definitely come to the right place. You know why? Because I am here to answer your savings prayers and show you an easy way to save money. I am going to share with you the ultimate resource so that it won’t be such a hassle to try to save for that house, or car, or college, or retirement … (you get the point.) This is going to help for those times when you stress out because you:
1. Don’t know how much to put in savings
2. Don’t know what savings your money should go in
3. Or, don’t know if you even have enough money to put into savings.
The ultimate EASY resource to get you back on your savings feet is …………. drum roll ………….. Wela!
Wait, what? What in the tarnation is Wela and how do you expect it to help me get my new house?
I’m glad you asked! I’ve done my homework and I’m here to give you the lowdown on how it’s helping me save for a down payment on a house, and exactly how it’s going to help you save money for whatever your heart desires.
What is Wela?
So you know when you start a new diet, you get super excited about it and then Monday morning rolls around and you say, “Screw the diet, this is dumb!” That’s because you didn’t have a plan of what to eat.
It’s just the same when you try to save money for something. You get really excited about it and then eventually say, “Screw it, I can’t ever save that much anyways!”
Wela is your guide, it’s your game plan. It’s there to give you an easy way to save money even if you’ve tried and failed before.
Wela is an online or mobile tool that not only gives you personal financial advice, but also helps track your savings goals.
My favorite and most helpful feature of Wela is their financial “game plan”. You set your financial goals, such as saving for a down payment on a home, and Wela seamlessly (and of course, securely) connects with your bank account so you can easily track how long that savings goal will take based on your income and expenses.
Did I mention it’s free?
Oh yeah, it’s totally free.
Sound too good to be true?
Just watch Life or Debt (seriously, watch it. It’s on Spike. Or Google it.) They are featured as the financial planning system for the families that Victor Antonio goes in to help.
How to Use it
You’re now convinced that you need this in your life so you can get that new car you’ve been wanting, right? Or you’re thinking, “I haven’t found anything else that’s helped me save money I may as well try this, too!”
It’s pretty basic to get started, plus they have help along the way. (I had problems connecting my account since my bank is only a state-wide bank not nation-wide, and had to annoy them about it. They were super helpful and got my problem fixed.)
If you want to follow along, click HERE and I’ll guide you with some pretty pictures below ๐
1. First things first you need to make an account. I know, I know … Not another password to remember. But hey, do you want to save for that house or don’t you? It’s going to take a little bit of sacrifice.
2. After making an account it will take you to a new screen so you can create your Wela profile. You can create one then or if you’d rather wait you can easily go down to the bottom and press skip.
3. The next page is going to ask you to link your account. It can be any account you have with a financial institution. And again, yes it is safe. I have done it, some of my family members have done it, and over 11,000 others have done it.
When you’re done linking your account you can either link others that you have or just click continue to dashboard.
4. Now comes the fun part, planning for your financial successes!
Walking through with Benjamin
Obviously I told you that this is the best resource to save for your down payment. Really, it’s awesome for any type of saving that you’ll be doing. To get started with your goals you’re going to want to get started with Benjamin.
It’s the guy in the middle of the screen that helps you get started with it (there’s a complete walk through) or you can watch the video.
In the Benjamin he helps you make your financial savings goals such as retirement, an emergency fund and yes, a savings plan for that down payment. Benjamin then gives you a time frame for how long you have (if you put in the same amount every month) until you reach that goal.
I put in how much my husband and I make a month and how much we spend. It then estimated how long it will take us to save for that down payment. (Yay! Only a year and a half left :))
It’s also super helpful to see how much you’ve spent for the month and how much you have to spend per day to keep you on track for your savings. (Seriously, they thought of everything!)
See, I told you that I had an easy way to save money for a down payment, or anything else you want to save for.
This is for you if …
Wela is for you if you have problems staying on track with your savings goals.
It’s for you if you just need an easy way to save money without the hassle of tracking it yourself.
It’s also for you if you have no idea where to start with your savings and need that little extra guidance and push to get you there.
I always mention this in my posts and I’ll say it again, it all starts with you. If you’re serious about saving money and getting that new house, new car, or even saving for retirement, you’re not going to get there by doing nothing.
If you are ready to take the plunge and get serious about saving money with Wela then click HERE and follow the steps mentioned above through the sign up. And again, yes it’s free!
Why not start with the easy way to save money and just have Wela do it for you?
